Decided to upgrade my Proheat pro-tech to the Proheat 2x Plus. Very pleased so far. Technology does move on and this machine seems more advanced. 3 dogs, so hoping to keep carpets in good condition. 3 for 2 formula plus vat free for Jan seems a good deal so will stock pile for the future. Before ordering the Proheat 2x i had been reading the reviews and very few were negative. Obviously you do get sceptical about the positive comments but on this occassion they are 100% correct. Sad news is that i am sure bissell will be bringing out a newer model soon and that will then set the bench mark for the future.

Does everything it says on the box - superbly!
I must admit to having been a bit sceptical about the claims made for the ProHeat 2X Plus, but it really is all true.
I am absolutely delighted with my ProHeat .... thank you Bissell

I bought the ProHeat 2X Plus last week and have just finished using it for the first time. It is splendid and does exactly what it says. The carpets and rugs were grubby and they have to contend with a muddy dog too. Follow the instructions – but for stains leave the stain pre-treater on for much longer – and you, too, will have carpets & rugs that look like new. They finish almost dry too. It is a devilishly clever design but so easy to clean before putting away until next time. But I do suggest that you buy the bigger containers of formula. If the ProHeat keeps on performing like this then it could well be considered my “best buy ever”.

Worst thing I have ever bought, it has been back to bissell twice for repair and looks like it's going back again, it's not as if you use it every day like a normal vac, for the money I would expect it to last longer than every time I use it without breaking down!!!

Had an old cylinder Vax which was a real effort and a pain to use so after purchasing new carpets after a move, I thought it was about time to replace it.
I did the usual research and stumped up the £300 for what I hoped would be a half decent diy carpet cleaner. What a refreshing difference it is to the old Vax. Wow. Haven't things changed!
It is soooo much easier to use and the results are brilliant. Far better than I thought possible from a non commercial machine. Really.
Yes, you do have to undo three screws after you have finished cleaning if you want to clean the machine thoroughly, but it really isn't a hassle.
I have two puppies and will not be too worried about my new wool carpets now. I tested the cleaner out on a thick cream wool rug that I didn't think was dirty, but I was more than surprised at the colour of the water. It was so refreshed and noticeably cleaner after a short going-over on the light soil mode. The rug dried in about an hour and a half - It's a thick Chinese rug. I didn't think that was too bad.
I am well pleased that I went for this machine and think it is certainly worth the £300 price tag. Why on earth did I persevere with the old Vax for so long? Hmm.
If you have good carpets that you have spent a lot of money on - they are not cheap - then it makes sense to look after them properly. I'm confident that from what I have seen so far, I will be able to do just that with this cleaner.
I'm off to amaze my sister tomorrow by doing her carpets. I'm on a roll....

Purchased this Dec 10 and has been used many times as i have 5 Cats. I find this easy to use with very good results.
brought a rug doctor previously which was more expensive and only good in a straight line and results not as good.
Will certainly stick with Bissell in the future. great for spot stains just like using a hover but a little heavier.

Heavy on the cleaning fluid but does a good job. Heavy to move around but the long hose is great for stairs and small low areas. The heat blower in my opinion is a gimmick, unless you are working the same area wihout fluids for a long period,

It cleans well but absolutely DRINKS the shampoo which is not cheap. The machine uses more than a litre bottle full formula/709 ml concentrated bottles of shampoo AND I don't manage to shampoo a room carpet with that ammount!!
The other downside is having to dismantle & unscrew the parts to clean it properly.
Personally I preferred the old( discontinued) Bex Bissel carpet shampooer with the two brush heads but this Pro heat machine was recommended to me & I was desperately in need for a replacement machine.

As this machine has a smartmix control which you can use to regulate the amount of formula used, we are wondering if you perhaps had it set to the heavy traffic setting, which is only intened for smaller, heavy traffic ares such as door openings. If this is not the case, you might want to speak to our customer services team on 0844 888 66 44 so that they can verify that everything is working as it should be.
