With four dogs and that cheap felt back carpet that people put down to sale property,I didn't hold out much hope! Having used this cleaner for the first time today on my hall carpet,I can't believe how easy it is to set up and use and the amount of dirt that came out of the carpet. I used the pet stain and odour shampoo,it left a pleasant smell which was not overbearing. Can't wait to use again.
Better value now at lower price

Bought this model a couple of years ago (at full price) - wish I'd waited for the price to drop (hence the lower vfm star rating.
Not used for a year and found the heater block gummed-up, so do make sure you rinse through with clear water after use.
Did a sterling job rescuing my ground-floor carpets after a washing m/c disaster; and in a multi-pet household it copes very well.

having 5 dogs my carpets can get into a bit of a mess. Just bought this and within a couple of hours all my carpets are like new and smelling wonderful. Our cream carpet really showed how good this machine was, as it had a few puppy stains which had been treated unsuccessfully with numerous dfferent products, at last they are gone!!!

Borrowed a Bissell from a friend last year and became a convert. I ordered mine Last week and it arrived quickly. Easy to assemble and even easier to use.
We have recently moved to a new house with some carpets that were a little grubby and unloved. We can't replace them all at once, but this has enabled us to at least live with them.
It has struggled with what appears to be red wine on a cream carpet, but as the wine looks like it has been there for years, I don't suppose an atomic bomb would have totally shifted it. At least now it is just a slight discolour, rather than an obvious stain
Highly recommended!!

Wow o Wow!!! Again not sure what the lady from wales had so many problems,, I am disabled and love this machine, I used to pay for my carpets to b cleaned and then followed a friends advise and brought the bissell powerwash pro heat..... You need to buy one of these if u have pets or kids or a husband,, Just buy it!!! You won't regret it!!!

Bought this just before Christmas and could not wait for a free day to have a go. I was so amazed because I did have my cream carpets professionally cleaned in the summer so was not expecting that much dirty water. How wrong could I be. The water was mud brown. So I did 2 large cream sofas and again I was amazed how much dirty water I had. I am very pleased with this cleaner. I find it easy to use, fill and put away. The only complaint is you seem to have to refill a lot but I guess thats because its not an industrial cleaner. I am very pleased and am now pestering friends and family to clean their carpets.

My cleaning man was delighted with this machine, I bought it to freshen my carpets and they look like new. I have a kirby vacumn cleaner which are supposed to be the best but it was amazing how much dirt the Bissell removed. Well done Bissell. P Lindis.

First of all I'm not quite sure why the lady from Wales had problems with this machine - ITS FANTASTIC! I could move the machine around my carpet with ease, in fact with just a few fingers holding it! Yes, it can be quite heavy when lifting it upstairs but its worth it because the way it cleans the carpet is untrue. I have cream carpets through out the house and as we live in a town house the main stairs get a lot of use - Well they are brand new again. All the little marks have come out which makes the carpet look new again. I was spot painting the other day with White paint and dripped some paint on to the carpet much to the concern of my girlfriend, but as soon as I got The Bissell out the paint was gone! Its now my new best friend which gets me out of trouble :-)
Make sure you buy this, you wont regret it!!!!!!

I have just used this product for the first time. IT SHOULD COME WITH A HEALTH WARNING - DON'T BUY UNLESS YOU HAVE A HUSBAND OR YOU YOURSELF ARE INTO WEIGHT TRAINING. I quite happily lug around 15 and 20kg sacks of dog food but this machine is unbelievably difficult to manoeuvre and carrying it upstairs was a nightmare. I had to go backwards and drag it up one step at a time. (Before you ask, no, I hadn't filled the tank). Where do you get hold of it? That silly little loop on the handle doesn't do the job. An extra grab handle is needed on the front. The water tank is the same. Once the handle is taken off its very difficult to get hold of. How about some handholds, when its wet or your hands are. it was a nightmare to get hold of.
Thats just for starters. Some 8/10 years ago I bought a Bissell Quick Wash with a friend for £35 new, it was an offer in a magazine. Silly me I said she could have it, I was going to get a much better model!! Apart from the tools I dont think this machine is much better, yes it got a lot of muck out of the carpet but so did the previous one. The caddy for the hose doesnt do the job either. The bracket on the left hand side of the machine as viewed from the back isnt deep enough to keep the hose in place, it escapes constantly and the clip on the other side to retain the end isnt strong enough. The end of the hose constantly kept falling off during use. In the end I resorted to string to keep it in place. I live in a cottage. Maybe in a a larger property I would have found it easier to use but it is definitely not designed for the smaller property. One thing I can say though, is that it beats the cannister Vax I once had. That was a nightmare. To summarise I as so lookinng forwrd to getting this, I have dogs and decided life without a carpet washer was not on. But I am so disappointed and I would get my money back if I could. Can I ???
