Melville and Anna Bissell own a crockery shop in Michigan, USA.
1876
Tired of sweeping saw dust daily, Melville invents the first carpet sweeper.
1887
Anna takes over the business, becoming the US's first female CEO.
1889
BISSELL sweepers used by British Royals & first carpet washer created.
1956
there's hardly a home without a BISSELL multi-surface cleaner.
1960's
BISSELL launch the lightweight stick vacuum.
1970
Mark Bissell succeeds his father to run the BISSELL company.
1985
BISSELL introduce ProHeat 2X, the first upright deep cleaner.
2006
Spot and Steam cleaners offer next level cleaning.
2013
Multi-Reach range launched, the freedom cordless cleaning.
2014
